The Maker Movement has spread rapidly around the world in recent years, and as manufacturing tools continue to become more efficient, cheaper and more accessible, makerspaces are cropping up in cities and small towns worldwide, giving more people of all ages access to mentorship, programmes and tools such as 3D printers and scanners, laser cutters, microcontrollers and design software.

Makerspace People was founded by a group of industry professionals with extensive experience in the makerspace business, in response to the growing demand for consultation on how to create innovation infrastructure in a way that really works. With 10 + years of international experience, our team brings together a wide-range of skillsets and specialisations across all aspects of makerspace development. In addition to our previous work for TechShop and TechShop Global, our team has consulted on and continues to provide services to a number of ‘white label’ makerspaces worldwide. We currently operate in multiple locations in cities around the world and expertise and networks are often shared across those locations.

We put People in our company name as it’s at the heart of everything we do. We don’t create makerspaces that simply fill rooms with lots of great tools: a makerspace is first and foremost about the community it brings together. Makers are the kind of people with a perennial curiosity about how to make it and make it better, who share a quality that leads to learning and innovation: the inventors, designers, engineers, artists, programmers, hackers, tinkerers, students, craftspeople, startups, DIYers and micro enterprises - these communities remain our focus every step of the way.
